Bespoke Services

We also make bespoke items specially for you or someone special. To start your journey to commission a custom item get in touch via info@rachaelholmesjewellery.co.uk.

How the bespoke process works

Once you get in touch, we will confirm whether we have bespoke slots available (we have capacity for approximately two a month at the moment, so get in touch as early as you can).

We will then arrange an initial chat with you either in person, by email, or over zoom/ telephone call to get an initial sense of your ideas and ask you some questions and provide information about stones, metals, and sizing. You can bring some design ideas, pictures, heirloom pieces to model from - or anything else that has sparked inspiration!

If you have a clear idea of what you would like, an initial chat might be easy to do via emails or over the phone, but appointments are always offered if it would help you to visualise your ideas or discuss how to build in a particular aesthetic.

It is helpful to think about the following before meeting with us, or send through via email:

Your Design – Are you thinking of a ring, necklace, earrings, or set?
Metal Colour & Stones  – The main collection is yellow gold and either sapphires or diamonds, but bespoke pieces can be made from any precious metals, as well as various gemstones.
Deadlines  – Do you need your design for a specific date, such as a birthday, event, or wedding?
Budget – Do you have a budget in mind for your piece?

At this point a basic sketch might be drawn.

Any design, no matter how basic, at this stage will remain the property of Rachael Holmes Jewellery and may not be reproduced in part or full without permission of Rachael Holmes.

Design Development

If you decide to go ahead with design development at this stage, a 250£ non refundable fee is payable to cover the cost of design time and sourcing time. This amount is taken off any quote given for a final piece.

Rachael Holmes Jewellery will source materials, metals, and stones for your piece and you will get to select each element individually, we can also offer guidance based on the specific piece being developed.

Finalising your Design

Once you have selected your final design, a payment of 50% of the total amount for the fee is due to cover the time and materials. At this point you will be committed to purchase and the order cannot be cancelled. The final 50% is due upon completion and before the piece leaves the studio either for collection or delivery.

Timelines

All good things take time. As each piece is handmade, bespoke pieces normally take between 6 - 10 weeks to produce from the time the final design is agreed. During busier times, such as the lead up to Christmas, this timescale may be longer, up to 16 weeks. Please get in touch with as much advance notice as possible.
